Professor Seidel Elected to Executive Committee of the Division of Particles and Fields of the American Physical Society
October 22, 2012
Congratulations to Professor Sally Seidel on her election to the DPF (Division of Particles & Fields) Executive Committee of the American Physical Society, for three years starting January 1, 2013.
The objective of the Division of Particles and Fields is the study of fundamental particles and fields, their structure, their interactions and interrelationships, the design and development of high energy accelerators, and the design and development of instrumentation techniques for high energy physics.
The twelve members of the Executive Committee provide guidance on future directions of research in the field through development of forum for discussion; they inform and educate legislators and the public on the value of physics and the contribution that research makes to the nation; and they promote opportunities for the study of physics by the next generation.
CONGRATS, Prof. Seidel!
