Multiscale Entanglement Renormalization Ansatz, a.k.a. MERA, is a type of tensor network that incorporates the evolution of entanglement under renormalization group flow in its architecture. It was originally formulated for discrete condensed matter systems, and attempts to adapt it to continuum systems over the past decade have led to dead ends. I will present an adaptation of MERA for quantum field theories based on discrete wavelet transforms that overcomes the obstacles of previous attempts. This approach, called wMERA, enables the computation of correlation functions and real-time evolution over many orders of magnitude in spacetime separation without significant loss of accuracy. As examples, I will first describe two concrete implementations of wMERA for free scalar and fermionic theories in (1+1) spacetime dimensions. Then, I will describe a wMERA-based perturbation theory for computations in weakly coupled theories.
