Understanding the Nature of ISM using Pulsars

Pulsars are rapidly rotating neutron stars with applications ranging from gravitational wave detection to space weather. The short bright pulses from these objects are unique probes of the ISM on different scales. In this talk, I will discuss the results from our multifrequency, X-ray, and radio observations of the newly discovered supersonic pulsar PSR J0002+6216, and what that tells us about the nature of its local ISM and implications for the associated pulsar wind nebula. I will conclude with discussions on results from the low-frequency monitoring observations of the pulsar with the LWA and how we could use that to study the ISM behavior over long-time scales.
