Abstract: |
The mammalian brain is a highly complex organ that develops rapidly throughout childhood and
continues to evolve across the lifespan. Our understanding of how the mammalian brain gathers information and responds to external stimuli has been informed by both invasive and noninvasive studies of brain function/structure. For example, neural oscillations are observed across species and represent population dynamics that span species regardless of the dramatic differences in scale from rodent to human models. Examining these cross-species patterns allows us to perform translational studies to better understand how neural dynamics relate to behavior in health and disease. |
