Abstract: |
The Monte Carlo method is simple, robust, widely applicable, and surprisingly useful. I will describe its use in numerical integration, in experimental physics, in statistical mechanics, and in lattice gauge theory. If there is time, I also will explain some recent research on the sign problem.
