From Plasmonics to DNA Sequencing Nanoscale Technologies Enabled by Interferometric Lithography

Thursday September 28, 2017
11:00 am

Presenter:  Dr. Steven R.J. Brueck, Distinguished Professor, Emeritus, UNM Physics and Astronomy, Electrical and Computer Engineering and CHTM
 Series:  OSE Seminars
Abstract:  Interferometric lithography (IL) is a powerful technique for producing large-area nanoscale features. At CHTM, we have used IL for a wide variety of projects ranging from nanoscale crystal growth to plasmonics to nanofluidics. Recent results in both plasmonics for enhancement of infrared detectors and nanofluidics with applications to DNA sequencing will be reviewed. A new start-up company, Armonica Technologies, Inc. has recently received venture funding for the DNA sequencing application. Some of the lessons learned in bringing technology to venture will be discussed.
Location:  Room 103, Center for High Tech Materials
