Multi-filed trajectories in sneutrino and axion inflation

Thursday December 1, 2016
1:00 pm

Presenter:  Marco Peloso, University of Minnesota
Series:  Nuclear, Particle, Astroparticle and Cosmology (NUPAC) Seminars
Abstract:  Sneutrino and axion inflation are among the best physically motivated class of models of inflation. However, their simplest realizations predict an amount of gravitational waves (GW) that is in tension with the current observational limits. In the talk, after an introduction of these models and of the phenomenology of inflation, we will show how multi-field evolution can decrease the amount of GW generated in these models. We will also show that, in sneutrino inflation, this multi-filed evolution can also lead to the generation of the baryon asymmetry observed in the present universe.
