Abstract: I will survey recent progress on dynamic error correcting codes. Unlike traditional error correcting codes, which feature a fixed code space, the code space of dynamic codes changes with each time step due to non-commuting measurements. I will show that dynamic codes are capable of performing not only quantum error correction, but also fault-tolerant quantum computation without requiring any unitary evolution.
