The FVTX detectors each have four layers of silicon strip detectors shaped as wedges and placed around the beam pipe for complete phi coverage.
The sensors, purchased from Hamamatsu, were tested by the manufacturer and re-tested here at UNM for defects which would either give a bad leakage current, or give an unacceptable full-depletion voltage as determined from a capacitance versus voltage measurement.
