Group Research Overview

Our group's research, led by Prof. Bassalleck and Prof. Fields, is centered on experimental investigations of the strong interaction (Quantum Chromodynamics), at the intersection of nuclear and particle physics. We have been involved in experiments at BNL, CERN, KEK, J-PARC, and FermiLab. The two current foci of our efforts are on the spin physics program of the PHENIX experiment at the Relativistic Heavy Ion Collider (RHIC/BNL, Prof. Fields), representing the group's major effort, and on strangeness nuclear physics experiments at J-PARC in Japan (Prof. Bassalleck). We are affiliated with the New Mexico Center for Particle Physics. The links to the left provide more information about past, current and future experimental and analysis projects of our group.
