Introduction to computer algebra in Python with sympy

Friday September 17, 2021
2:00 pm

 Presenter:  Anupam Mitra (UNM)
 Series:  Computational Physics Seminar
Abstract:  Computer algebra involves using computers to manipulate mathematical symbols, in a manner similar to how we do algebra on pencil and paper. This is a complementary tool to numerical computation, the latter involving using computers to handle mathematical expressions numerically. I will introduce sympy, a Python library for working with mathematical symbols and discuss examples from linear algebra, calculus and some physics applications.

Please contact the host for the password if you would like to join the seminar through Zoom.
