The Monte Carlo method and its uses

Friday October 1, 2021
2:00 pm

 Presenter:  Dr. Kevin Cahill (UNM)
 Series:  Computational Physics Seminar
Abstract:  The Monte Carlo method is simple, robust, widely applicable, and surprisingly useful.  I will describe its use in numerical integration, in experimental physics, in statistical mechanics, and in lattice gauge theory.  If there is time, I also will explain some recent research on the sign problem.

Please contact the host for the password if you would to join the seminar through Zoom.
