Research Interests:

I have a broad range of research programs including galactic astronomy, extragalactic astronomy, and instrumentation. Specifically, I have discovered two new types of variable stars, built a unique survey instrument, probed the mass distribution of the Milky Way, and demonstrated new techniques for finding distances to distant galaxies. My CTI (CCD Transit Instrument) telescope records strips of the nighttime sky and is extremely good at survey work on faint objects along with those that vary in brightness. This instrument is also a viable model for the first Lunar telescope.
