Will Crockett Wins NSF Graduate Research Fellowship

Recent alumnus Will Crockett won one of the very competitive NSF Graduate Research Fellowships with his proposal A Bottom-Up Approach to Modeling the Impact of Ocean Warming on Marine Microbial Communities.

Will double majored in physics and biology at UNM and graduated in December 2022. He did his senior honors thesis in the physics department with Dr. Mousumi Roy, and is currently working on a project with Dr. Chris Kempes at the Santa Fe Institute.

Will plans to use the award to pursue a Ph.D. degree in either microbiology or geobiology. He is still deciding where.

Congratulations, Will!
