Professor Carlton Caves Elected APS Fellow

2004-Dec-06—Professor Carlton Caves has been elected a fellow of the American Physical Society (APS). Dr. Caves is being recognized “for pioneering work on the role of quantum mechanics in the physics of information.” Fellowship in APS is limited to no more than one half of one percent of the membership.

Professor Caves’ research interests include quantum information theory and quantum computation, theory of open quantum systems and decoherence, nonlinear dynamics and quantum chaos, and theoretical quantum optics.
