The Search for sub-GeV Dark Matter at Coherent Captain Mills

Presented by William Thompson, LANL

Coherent Captain Mills (CCM) is a 10-ton liquid argon scintillation detector located at the Lujan Neutron Science Center at Los Alamos. CCM searches for sterile neutrinos and dark matter generated from an 800 MeV proton beam. CCM is currently conducting searches for several dark matter candidates including vector portal and leptophobic dark matter and axion-like particles. In this talk I will discuss the experimental and theoretical motivations behind CCM, discuss CCM's design and discuss our current results.
