The Australian SKA Pathfinder (ASKAP): Telescope and Surveys

Presented by Josh Marvil (NRAO)

The Australian Square Kilometer Array Pathfinder (ASKAP) is a 36 antenna interferometer operating between 700-1800 MHz. In this talk I will review the instrumental design and highlight recent results from commissioning and early science efforts. I will also summarize the major ASKAP survey projects scheduled to begin next year, including an in-depth look at ASKAP's radio continuum survey the Evolutionary Map of the Universe (EMU).
