Higgs Boson in the Standard Model and Beyond - Part II

Presented by Rouzbeh Allahverdi, UNM

This is the second pedagogical lecture on Higgs physics. In this lecture, first I briefly review the Standard Model predictions for the Higgs decay branching ratios that are very important in the analysis of LHC Higgs data. Then I turn to the issue of fine tuning in the Standard Model Higgs mass that inevitably arises when quantum corrections are taken into account. Addressing this fine-tuning problem motivates models of new physics beyond the Standard Model that propose a more satisfactory mechanism to obtain the mass of the Higgs particle(s) around the electroweak scale.
