The case for sterile neutrinos

Presented by Shashank Shalgar (UNM)

In this pedagogical talk I will discuss the particle physics motivation for sterile neutrinos and experimental hints for sterile neutrinos, including the 3.5 KeV X-ray line seen by the Chandra Observatory. I will discuss the Dirac and Majorana mass terms for neutrinos and basics of the see-saw mechanism.
