The Institute for Geophysics, Planetary Physics and Signatures – a snapshot of sponsored research

Presented by Harald Dogliani (LANL)

IGPPS sponsors collaborative research involving University and Los Alamos Scientists to promote and coordinate basic research on the understanding of the origin, structure and evolution of the Earth, the Solar System, and the Universe, to develop the science base to predict future changes as they affect human life.  Examples of the research conducted include High-Altitude Water Cherenkov Gamma-Ray Observatory analysis, Aurorasaurus – a web site developed to gather aurora sighting data using social media, and microseismic data extraction to detect extreme ocean storms.
