Neutrino Oscillations

Tuesday November 8, 2022
2:00 pm

 Presenter:  Nishant Raina, UNM
Series:  Nuclear, Particle, Astroparticle and Cosmology (NUPAC) Seminars
Abstract:  The phenomenon of neutrino oscillations might be the most compelling evidence we have so far for physics beyond the standard model. In my talk, I will give an overview of vacuum oscillations and how one can understand the more complicated case of three-neutrino flavor oscillations in the two-neutrino flavor approximation, effects of matter on neutrino oscillations (MSW effect), and collective flavor oscillations in a dense neutrino gas.
 Host:  Huaiyu (Mike) Duan
 Location:  PAIS-3205, PAIS
