The implication of symmetries in CHSH-like games

Thursday April 14, 2022
3:30 pm

 Presenter:  Amir Kalev, USC/ISI
 Series:  CQuIC Seminars
Abstract:  In this talk we will re-examine the well-known CHSH experiment, abstracted as a multiple-round game between two parties. Specifically we will be interested in the implication of the symmetry between the two parties on the correlation between them. We will introduce a model that respects the symmetry between the parties, but does necessarily posit additional requirements on non-physically relevant degrees of freedom. We show that in such a "minimalistic" model, stronger correlations may be obtained than those maximally attainable otherwise. We discuss the implications of our results in the context of the CHSC-Bell's theorem.
