Introduction to Computational Electromagnetics

Friday October 29, 2021
2:00 pm

 Presenter:  Dr. Viktoriia Babicheva (UNM)
 Series:  Computational Physics Seminar
Abstract:  Computational electromagnetics deals with the calculations of electromagnetic properties of complex systems, and the analysis of a problem using computational methods involves a number of steps. This lecture will look at the most common ways of solving Maxwell's equations and what techniques have been developed for that. Electromagnetic problems are sometimes described by differential equations, sometimes by integral equations, and sometimes by minimizations of an integral, such as the energy integral. This lecture aims to provide an introductory level of understanding of various computational methods and their application to electromagnetics problems. Please contact the host for the password if you would like to attend the seminar remotely through zoom.
