Harnessing Piezoelectricity in Novel Microsystems for Classical and Quantum Information Processing

Saturday April 15, 2023
3:30 pm

Presenter:  Matt Eichenfield, Sandia National Labs
 Series:  CQuIC Seminars
Abstract:  Piezoelectricity is the intrinsic coupling between electric fields and strains in materials. While piezoelectric sensors, actuators, and RF filters are important components of many existing microsystems, their potential is largely underutilized. Here, I will discuss several novel piezoelectrically enabled microsystems developed by the MEMS-Enabled Quantum Photonics group at Sandia National Labs, and I will show how they are being used to make significant advances in classical and quantum information processing. check Publix March Ad.
