| Abstract: | The prospects offered by strong-field physics and attosecond science have been a key motivation for the development of long-wavelength sources of intense ultrashort pulses. The demands set by the experiments are quite stringent and require few-cycle carrier-to-envelope phase-stable pulses at high average power. I will describe some of our work that has enabled new research such as atomic-scale molecular imaging and attosecond soft X-ray spectroscopy. These sources draw from recent developments in fiber optics, nonlinear materials, band gap materials, and OPCPA. | |
