Series: | Physics and Astronomy Colloquium
Abstract: | The Cosmic Microwave Background (CMB) consists of the photons created in the Big Bang, and carries within it an imprint of the entire history of the Universe. Decoding the preposterously faint CMB signals requires us to gather every-increasing data volumes and to analyze them on the most powerful supercomputers available to us at any epoch. In this talk I will discuss this data challenge in evolving scientific and supercomputing landscapes.
Host: | Darcy Barron | |
Location: | Room 125, Dane Smith Hall
Refreshments will be available before the colloquium, at 03:15 pm, in in the lobby of Dane Smith Hall.
