Characterizing and visualizing quantum dynamics of Rydberg atoms

Tuesday August 1, 2017
3:30 pm

 Presenter:  Rick Mukherjee, Rice University
 Series:  CQuIC Seminars
Abstract:  An interacting many-body quantum system realized in ultracold atom, molecule, and ion experiments provide a natural platform to study many-body spin dynamics. The exact nature of the dynamics rely upon the underlying interactions that generate them. In this respect, there has been a lot of interest to study Rydberg-dressed interactions and the correlations generated by them.
For this talk, I would like to demonstrate how Ramsey spectroscopy can be used to characterize the Rydberg-dressed interactions. I would also briefly discuss a method that allows to geometrically visualize spin correlations using Rydberg atoms as an example.
