Neutrinoless double beta decay and TeV* scale physics

Tuesday April 11, 2017
2:00 pm

 Presenter:  Michael Graesser, LANL
Series:  Nuclear, Particle, Astroparticle and Cosmology (NUPAC) Seminars
Abstract:  After reviewing the standard Majorana neutrino contribution to neutrinoless double decay, I will discuss more exotic possibilities. New physics scenarios at the TeV scale and beyond could contribute signals to both neutrinoless double beta experiments and hadron colliders, such as the LHC or a future 100 TeV collider. I will discuss recent progress in enumerating such new physics scenarios, providing new estimates of their contributions to neutrinoless double decay obtained from using chiral SU(3), and prospects for their discovery/exclusion at hadron colliders.
 Location:  PAIS-2540, PAIS
