Direct detection experiments search for the rare signature of a WIMP recoil with ordinary nucleus.
A large number of experiments with different techniques will be vying for the prized catch and will
be complimentary to the LHC SUSY search. This talk will be a review of current status and future
prospects of the leading experiment in the field, named Cryogenic Dark Matter Search (CDMS),
and the prospects of other competing technologies.
