Atomic spectroscopy on a chip using hollow-core waveguides

Holger Schmidt, University of California Santa Cruz

(Session : Thursday from )

Abstract. Miniaturized atomic vapor cells can be built on a semiconductor chip using hollow-core waveguide technology. They have great potential for applications as diverse as frequency stabilization, atomic clocks, and single-photon sources and detectors. I will review the status of these integrated spectroscopy cells, including design, fabrication, atomic vapor spectroscopy, and the observation of EIT on a chip.
